Rick Santorum and the Dangers of Lin-Satanism

We recently looked at the chart of a religious fanatic who felt she was being persecuted by the spirit of Ezekiel from the Bible.  We also considered the chart of Martin Luther who initiated the Protestant Reformation.  Luther was personally tormented by Satan who inhabited his bowels.  In this post I’d like to look at the chart of a contemporary political figure who believes that “Satan has his sights on the United States of America.”  In fact, this nation has been under demon-attack for the past 200 years.

Rick Santorum (whose last name probably derives from the Latin for the “holy of holies” of the Old Testament) warns: “Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”  Chief among the depraved institutions of the United States is the National Basketball Association, that hotbed of Lin-Satanism which proudly promotes displays of swaggering vain sensuality.  (Does this man sound a bit racist?)   Not far behind the diabolically possessed NBA are the profane rock groups and the morally degenerate movie industry.  Our youth don’t stand a chance against the wiles of Satan.

Can we find Santorum’s worries in his birth chart?  The birth time is unknown, so I cast a sunrise chart for his birth place:

Rick Santorum, sunrise natal chart

The most striking feature of this chart is the five planets in fixed signs: Sun, Moon, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.  Once he makes up his mind on a matter he is very slow to change.  His personal planets, Mercury and Venus, are in “me-first” Aries, a self-assertive sign that often shows little regard for the opinions or rights of others.  Mercury in Aries values, above all, his own ideas and opinions.  Venus in Aries values primarily her own desires.  To hell with what others think and want; it’s my way or the highway.

Mars is Pisces devotes a lot of energy to spiritual matters.  Jupiter in Libra ought to make him more open-minded and liberal, but Jupiter lies opposite Mercury in Aries so that his thinking and his potential for broadmindedness are in conflict, though the potential for tolerance of others’ viewpoints is present.  With Jupiter in Libra, Santorum is a latent liberal but his conscious mind (Mercury) can’t tolerate that thought (Mercury opposite Jupiter).  On the other hand, the 16th century King Sebastian of Portugal, who also had Jupiter in Libra, single-handedly obliterated Portugues independence because of his fanatical religious beliefs.

Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius is quite uncomfortable.  Saturn is cold and dry and wants to contract and conserve.  Sagittarius is hot and dry and wants to expand and liberalize.  Only the dryness is their common bond, but dryness makes things rigid and brittle.  His retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius probably accounts for his uncritical acceptance of traditional dogma, his shriveled rigid religious worldview, and his judgmental intolerance of diversity of opinion and values.

Unfortunately, Santorum is not alone in his beliefs.  A British doctor of the occult, James Phillips, warns that at least 10% of the world’s population are Satanists.  Fortunately, these minions of the father of lies are easy to recognize.  Being interested in astrology and tarot is only one of ten characteristics that allow you to spot the Satanists in your community.  I quote verbatim from the article by Marge Floori in Weekly World News (forewarned is forearmed):

1. They come and go at odd hours, especially late at night and just before dawn.

2. They never attend church or celebrate religious holidays.

3. They often have no visible means of support, yet live well.

4. They carry strange bags and bundles, never revealing the contents.

5. They rarely laugh, or laugh under the wrong circumstances – for example, when a child is hit by a car.

6. They are often openly interested in magic tricks or the occult.

7. They may excite instinctual fear in children and animals.

8. They are not afraid of blood – in fact, they seem attracted by it.

9. They collect weird things, such as animal skeletons or fingernail clippings.

10. They tend to dress warmly even in hot weather, as if they constantly feel chilled.”

Addendum:  If I were to try to rectify Santorum’s chart, I would put Pluto in Leo in the 9th because of his rigidly held intense religious beliefs.  Pluto goes stationary direct the day after his birth, so it is the most powerful planet in his chart.  I would also put Sagittarius on the ASC with Saturn in Sagittarius in the 1st because he identifies so closely with his conservative religious views.  Here is a very rough estimate of a potential rectification:

The starting point of a possible rectification of Santorum's chart based on his rigid conservative religious belief system.
