July 1, 2011 – Dominique Strauss-Kahn is released from house arrest – what do his stars say? Jupiter to the rescue!

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is a lucky man.  He was released from house arrest on Friday July 1, 2011 because the hotel maid who accused him of attempted rape was found to have lied to a grand jury and to have made other false statements.  As an astrologer hearing this news, I could not help thinking that he must have to thank his lucky stars, and sure enough Jupiter – the Greater Benefic, the planet of good fortune – is smiling on his chart.  The news broke on June 30, 2011, that the case against Strauss-Kahn was near collapse, so let’s look at a chart for that date superimposed on his birth chart.  Because his time of birth is not known, I will use a sunrise horoscope.

Sex-assault case against Strauss-Kahn near collapse

Just as expected, transiting Jupiter is crossing over his natal sun as the sex assault case against Strauss-Kahn is collapsing.  The timing of the conjunction was most likely on June 29, one day before the news broke in the press.  The Jupiter/Sun conjunction occurs only once in every 12 years and marks a time of abundance and good fortune.  His Jupiter/Sun conjunction is occurring exactly at the time the case against him is being severely challenged by the prosecutors.  It is hard to imagine better luck.  In addition, Jupiter will cross over his natal Venus on July 13, 2011 (this also occurs once in every 12 years).  It too is an aspect of luck and good fortune, which also correlates with abundant sexual opportunities.  Venus is the “lesser Benefic” and the goddess of love, and Jupiter is the “greater Benefic” and the lecher of Mount Olympus.  The first two weeks of July, 2011, are perhaps his luckiest two weeks in the past 12 years (astrologically speaking).

It is truly amazing how astrological timing plays itself out in news events.

This post is a follow-up to my previous discussion of his solar return for this year, which warned of involvement in a scandal.

  1. Jennifer Ritter says:

On July 5, Tristane Banon filed charges against DSK for attempted rape. How does this show up astologically?
    I think DSK’s woes are not over…

    • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your comment. Mr. Strauss-Kahn still has Saturn crossing over his natal Neptune, so he is not out of the woods yet. At the time Tristane Banon filed charges transiting Mercury (which rules his 3rd house of news events) was squaring his natal Sun and Venus. This may be the indicator of stressful news. However, he is going through a fortunate period in early July so her charges, even if valid, may not result in prosecution.

  2. A French astrologer Denis Pignal sent me the following email, which is very informative and I will post here:
I can provide you the hour of his birth chart : 25/4/49 11H10 a m Neuilly sur seine . Ascendant 00°24′ Leo .
I think personnally it could be 11h08’30” , (that would make 00°07′ Leo for the AS ) because of primary pluto opposed mars on 14/5/2011 in this case . Primary pluto in the 4th opposed natal mars in 10 th . ( mundane primary ; natal solar rate ) .
This exceptionnal case shows actual jupiter hard aspects in both primary , secondary and transits on his birth chart ! To me , this is why there has been a so deep impact of this affair !
Natal jupiter aspects are also eloquent . See also secondary progressed jupiter coming back on his natal position and opposing natal ascendant again ,secondary progressed new moon in natal 12 th ,direct secondary progressed moon in natal 12 th until 18/03/2013 , converse secondary progressed moon in natal 6th ….

  3. October 14, 2011: As expected astrologically, the charges in France against Mr.Strauss-Kahn have been dismissed. Having the lecherous god Jupiter on his side, Mr. Strauss-Kahn has emerged relatively unscathed. According to the NY Times: “In October 2011, prosecutors in France dropped an investigation into a complaint of attempted rape made against him by a novelist, Tristane Banon, for an encounter that took place in 2003. Although Mr. Strauss-Kahn admitted to admitted to what prosecutors said amounted to sexual assault — trying to kiss Ms. Banon without her consent — but said the case could not be pursued because of the statute of limitations.”
