This past Sunday the show 60 Minutes aired an interview with TV talk show host Bill O’Reilly who explained that God dispatches the Holy Spirit with messages for him at night. According to the Washington Times:
“Bill O’Reilly says God told him to write his new book, ‘Killing Jesus: A History.’ The Fox News anchor explains in an interview on CBS’ ’60 Minutes’ that one night he awoke with the title of the book in his head. He says he believes he got that message from the Holy Spirit. Mr. O’Reilly says the book is a researched, historic account. Despite its de-emphasis of religion, he is using his special gifts from God in a positive way. He says it’s all part of God’s plan for him.”
I wondered what was going on in his astrological chart that might explain Mr. O’Reilly’s megalomaniacal statement. God only knows Bill’s time of birth, so I cast a sunrise chart for his birthplace.
Such a grandiose belief has the earmarks of Jupiter, which was hovering around 18 degrees of Cancer when O’Reilly revealed his closet messianic identity as a conduit for the Holy Spirit. Transiting Jupiter is opposite his natal Jupiter, sextile his natal Sun, square his natal Moon, and also square his natal stellium in Libra (Neptune, Mercury, Venus). So many contacts from transiting Jupiter to his natal planets are consistent with his claim of being a special messenger of God.
Essentially, transiting Jupiter is activating a powerful natal T-square involving the Aries Moon opposite Neptune, Mercury and Venus in Libra, and square natal Jupiter in Capricorn. Jupiter tends to magnify and exaggerate everything it touches.
The Moon is highly aspected in O’Reilly’s natal chart. The Moon reveals how we get our emotional needs met. In O’Reilly’s case, his emotional nature is channeled through Aries the Battering Ram, and his Moon is pumped up by a square from natal Jupiter (and currently by a square from transiting Jupiter). One site says the following about Aries:
“Aries live life head first; after all, those horns on your head are not just for fighting. Your headstrong nature can make you a “battering ram” and woe is the person who stands in your way. … Aries motto is ‘Ready, fire, aim!’“
P.S. A google search for Mr. O’Reilly’s chart turned up a unique delineation on YouTube by a young Canadian astrologer named Kevin. The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7grPA4fAc0.
